Paper Heroes will publish 500 years later: Final Fantasy VII through its creators

The publisher joins forces with Polygon to edit an extended version of the article written by Matt Leone in that American medium.

Squaresoft launched one of its top works in 1997. Through the testimonies of the developers, 500 years later: Final Fantasy VII through its creators will review the history and secrets of the video game creation process. The Spanish publisher Héroes de Papel has announced an agreement with Polygon for the publication of the book in Spain. "With more than thirty intertwined testimonies and a fabulous production, this book offers an unprecedented perspective on the art and ambition behind one of the most famous RPGs of all time, narrated by the people who made it possible," they point out in the press release.

This paper version is “an extended adaptation” of the in-depth report written by Matt Leone and published by Polygon in January 2017. The new edition will include exclusive illustrations, eight new individual interviews, and a preface by Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the series. It is a 256-page volume edited in hardcover. Paper Heroes promises “unpublished information” and “spectacular illustrations”.

His date? It will go on sale next September 16 in bookstores and department stores, although it can already be booked on the publisher's website. As an extra, an exclusive bookmark and a collection of 9 illustrated cards will be offered from the main members who devised the classic, which will come with biographical information on each of them.

The seventh chapter of the saga has returned to the present day by the hand of Final Fantasy VII Remake, which went on sale on April 10. This first chapter, currently exclusive to PS4, begins a new path that will be developed in the following installments.
