Persona 5: The Royal: countdown to learn what's new in the West

Atlus starts a twelve-day countdown to reveal what is presumably the release date of the game on these lands for PS4.

Atlus USA has confirmed through Twitter that they will announce news of Persona 5: The Royal within twelve days from the date of publication of the message, issued this November 21 at 20:00 (CEST). Thus, on December 3 at 20:00 (CEST) the deadline will have been met and the countdown will have ended.

At this time it is unknown what this information is about, although fans hope that an exact or approximate date of title availability beyond the Japanese borders will finally be revealed.

30% more content; PlayStation exclusive

Regarding Persona 5: The Royal, for now we know that it will have 30% more content than the original game, a series of contents that will help "deepen the mechanics of the title and its feelings." The game's director, Daiki Ito, has confirmed that there are new endings and a renewed endgame. At the end of the game, an unpublished third school period will begin in which we will be able to “know the new endings of Persona 5: The Royale”. Other news comes from the hand of certain graphic tweaks, support for PS4 Pro and more content; to highlight, a new opening, ending and battle theme, even more integral and confident for the Phantom Thieves, an unpublished area based in the center of Tokyo and small changes in the interface, palaces, enemies and treasures.

For those who wonder if it is possible that we will see the Persona saga away from Sony consoles in the future, according to the company this exclusivity is “very important”. Atsushi Morita, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia, said last September that "The Persona series is one of the Japanese IPs that can compete internationally," says Morita, who knows the power of the franchise beyond land Japanese “The saga has walked alongside PlayStation since its first installment back in 1996; I hope we can continue moving forward together in the future. ”

And it is not for less: the saga exceeds 10 million units sold worldwide, of which about 3 million correspond only to Person 5. The future is not written, but with a Microsoft making possible sagas like Yakuza, Kingdom Hearts and giving Final Fantasy more value than ever, maintaining that exclusivity is going to be a more expensive task than ever.

Persona 5: The Royal arrived exclusively on PlayStation 4 on October 31; its date will be revealed soon for the West, but it will be released in spring 2020.
