PlatinumGames has a new announcement planned for next February 27. The Japanese company, authors of Bayonetta, Vanquish, NieR: Automata or Astral Chain, will reveal in the next issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine an announcement of great importance to them.

The number published this week of this weekly newspaper, the most important in the video game sector in Japan, has advanced the news; However, they have not detailed whether it corresponds to the second videogame belonging to the Platinum4 project, the new website enabled by PlatinumGames itself with The Wonderful 101 as the first major announcement.

There is no more information about it; neither if it is one of the three remaining Platinum4 ads, not even if it will be the announcement of a new video game.

Platinum4, new announcement related to the project?

Platinum4 has only one game revealed: The Wonderful 101: Remastered

The current situation around PlatinumGames has not stopped since we started 2020. The study already warned: 2020 was going to be a year where “a new stage” will begin. For starters, apart from the Kickstarter of The Wonderful 101: Remastered – which is reaping an unusual success by adding more than 1.5 million dollars in a few days and thus fulfilling its goal of seeing the light in April on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC— , this month the compilation with audiovisual improvements of Bayonetta & Vanquish has been put on sale on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of both games.

On the other hand, the injection of economic capital made by the Chinese giant Tencent will allow the developer to self-publish future video games, thus being left out of the dependence of other publishers. Kenichi Sato said that this will allow them to "strengthen our foundation as a company and our expansion from being just a video game developer to explore their self-publishing."

Meanwhile, PlatinumGames continues to work on Babylon’s Fall for PS4 and PC, a commission made by Square Enix; and in Bayonetta 3, commissioned this time by Nintendo exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
