The Ivory Tower title adapts to the free to play mode for a few days. In addition, it does so with the latest update included.

Ubisoft has announced that The Crew 2 will be completely free on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via uPlay, Steam and Epic Games Store) from December 5 until the end of December 8. The huge title of Ivory Tower and its open world can be enjoyed throughout the bridge held in Spain on these dates at no cost.

Ubisoft continues with its policy of the so-called "Free Weekends", these weekends – or even three and four days – where some of the games in its recent catalog break the entry barrier so that the only requirement to play is to have of the console.

Why Ubisoft is still betting on open worlds

The title, like many others from Ubisoft, has an open world in its design, in its structure; This has a reason, as Yves Guillemot, CEO of the French giant, said in an interview last September. In his opinion, this way of dealing with a development responds to two things: the first, the desire to be able to do many experiences in a single game; He gave the example of the old Assassin's Creed and the last two —Origins and Odyssey — where their huge worlds allowed small deliveries to be integrated into the same product.

The second reason is sustainability: more and more players spend more time with their works than before, they are long-term products and, therefore, for Guillemot they must include content to keep the game afloat for a long time, especially if it is multiplayer, as is the case of Rainbow Six Siege (more than 40 million players) and For Honor (more than 15 million players).
