PlayStation Talents announces its 12 finalists

The Spanish independent developers support program continues one more year with cash prizes for the winner, as well as other advantages.

The Sixth Edition of the PlayStation Awards starts with the selection of the 12 most promising projects presented in PlayStation Talents. The organization has announced through a press release that the candidates for the "Best Game of the year 2019" will receive a cash prize of 10,000 euros, which will help them to finance their project. The winning studio will get PlayStation 4 development kits, with the aim of transferring their idea to the Sony platform. In addition, the video game will be published on this system and a physical space will be offered at one of the PlayStation Talents Camp venues. Finally, those who are crowned will be entitled to a promotion and marketing campaign on the official PlayStation channels. According to the company, it amounts to a campaign valued at 200,000 euros.

It will not be the only prize that is distributed. All the studios will have the opportunity to win the following categories: "Most Innovative Game", "Best Art" and "Best Game for the Press". As the statement says, for the first time the "Best Narrative" will be awarded, which will take into account the originality and depth of the script, as well as "the narrative method and complexity of the video game universe."

The premiere of Dreams, which began its path in early access, unleashes the incorporation of the "Special Dreams Award", which will give 3,000 euros to the project "that is able to squeeze the maximum creative potential of the game." Another addition is the "PlayStation Special Commitment Award", which will take into account the social background and the value of the video game to convey culture and principles.

The winners will be revealed on December 19, in a gala in which a jury composed of journalists and professionals from the sector will announce the great winners of the night.
