Pokémon GO: guide to May 2020 Incense Day: date, times and Pokémon confirmed

A new Incense Day is coming to Pokémon GO and with it the opportunity to get hold of a Carvanha Shiny and water-type and sinister-type Pokémon.

Incense Day has come to Pokémon GO to stay. Niantic has confirmed the dates and times of its second edition, which will be held this Sunday, May 17, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time frame all incenses will last 60 minutes instead of the usual 30 and will only attract water-type (like Horsea, Tympole and Alomomola) and sinister type (like Murkrow, Sableye and Scraggy). If we are a little lucky perhaps we can even get a Carvanha Shiny, so we had better be attentive and prepared. In addition, the in-game store will count again that same day with an exclusive batch of the event with which we can obtain 3 incenses in exchange for 1 pokécoin.

Specifically, this is the time when we can find each type of pokémon:

  • From 11:00 to 12:00 – Water type Pokémon
  • 12:00 to 13:00 – Sinister type Pokémon
  • From 13:00 to 14:00 – Water type Pokémon
  • From 14:00 to 15:00 – Sinister type Pokémon
  • From 15:00 to 16:00 – Water-type Pokémon
  • 16:00 to 17:00 – Sinister type Pokémon

What about May Community Day?

Once the Incense Day ends, it will be time to focus on this month's Community Day, which will be celebrated on May 24, 2020 and will have Seedot as the main star. Seedot captured that day will be able to learn recurrently by evolving into Shiftry (after passing through Nuzleaf), a plant-type move that they don't otherwise obtain. The event will last twice as long (six hours instead of three), there will be a triple experience bonus for each catch and incenses will last a whopping three hours. Some very particular characteristics that are due to Niantic's plan to offer more facilities to its community now that it must play from home due to the coronavirus.
