Pokémon GO month by month: this has evolved in 2019

Niantic summarizes everything the year has given itself and announces the January community event, although it reveals the Pokémon that will be present.

More than three years after its official launch, Pokémon GO continues with new features and updates. The video game for iOS and Android designed by Niantic will continue to evolve in the coming months along with all the creatures that dwell in their virtual worlds, which in this case merge with the real locations. Now that 2019 is about to end, the study wanted to review everything that has come throughout this year.

Already for next year, they have announced that the Community Day of January 2020 will take place on the 19th, from 11:00 to 14:00 (Spanish peninsular time). So far we have not announced the Pokémon that we can hunt, but for now, let's take a look at the annual review offered by Niantic.

January

  • Eclosionatón and Sincroaventura: we start the year strongly with an Eclosionatón and Sincroaventura to encourage Coaches to go out and move a little.
  • Safari Zone in Porto Alegre: we celebrate our first Pokémon GO event in Latin America! Over the weekend, tens of thousands of Trainers visited the recently rehabilitated Guaíba riverbank in Porto Alegre.
  • Pokémon discovered in the Sinnoh region: Coaches were able to catch Pokémon that first emerged in the Sinnoh region. These Pokémon began to appear in Pokémon GO along with the Sinnoh Stone.

February

  • Lunar New Year 2019: we celebrate the year of the pig with our Lunar New Year and with the protagonist Spoink.
  • The new Team Medallions allowed the Coaches to change teams: Were you the Coaches who wanted to try what it would be like to join another team? Our leaders used social media to recruit Coaches in their team with the arrival of the Team Medallion.
  • GO Snapshot: The GO Snapshot allowed you to take pictures of the Pokémon in a completely new way. This new interactive feature allowed the Trainers to photograph their Pokémon like never before, and with it Smeargle came in the pictures!

March

  • To bug with the Bug-type event: it was good news for the bug hunters that we announced our first event with Bug-type Pokémon.
  • Fight Challenge: During our Fight Challenge, Coaches could level up the Gym Medals, get Stardust and take pride in their equipment.
  • Dialga: Dialga, the Steel and Dragon Temporary Pokémon joined the raids.

April

  • Sentosa Safari Zone: Coaches traveled to Southeast Asia to attend the first Safari Zone in Sentosa, Singapore.
  • Lucky friendship and avatar poses: making friends in Pokémon GO was much more fun with the advent of lucky friendships. Having lucky friends guaranteed that the Coaches could make exchanges that resulted in Lucky Pokémon.
  • GO Instant Challenge: With the launch of GO Snapshot, we proposed a contest we call the GO Instant Challenge. Coaches around the world displayed their talent to take amazing photos of their Pokémon.

May

  • Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf come to light in the regional raids: your effort to unveil the mystery of these Legendary Pokémon that were discovered in the Sinnoh region resulted in Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf appearing in different regions of the world in the raids .
  • New Bait Modules and more Sinnoh Pokémon: Glacier, Mossy and Magnetic Bait Modules came out and helped Coaches catch Pokémon of certain types, and even evolve them! More Pokémon discovered in Sinnoh also came to Pokémon GO.
  • Relaxing with Snorlax: news from all over the world came to us that the Coaches had found Snorlax hibernating.

June

  • Global Challenge 2019 and the first track of the arrival of Team GO Rocket: did you catch the Team GO Rocket track on the blog about the global challenge, Coaches? Professor Willow knew nothing about his arrival at Pokémon GO, but he had certainly prepared the team leaders for any kind of problem.
  • Pokémon GO Festival 2019 in Chicago: despite the brief interruption in the game due to the bad weather on Saturday, our Coaches demonstrated their passion and traveled more than 290,000 kilometers, caught more than 15,000,000 Pokémon and made 213,000 new friends . Meanwhile … Team GO Rocket made its appearance in the game to sneak into the GO Snapshots!
  • Happy third anniversary, Pokémon GO: to celebrate the three years of Pokémon GO, Pikachu with a celebratory hat appeared by surprise in the snapshots, the Coaches could dress up as the favorite leaders of the teams and they could see Alola variocolor Pokémon in the game .

July

  • Harness the power of Mewtwo Battleship: for a limited time, the Coaches could run into Mewtwo Battleship in the five star raids. Coaches passionate about street fashion were also able to dress in their avatar with articles inspired by Mewtwo.
  • Pokémon GO Festival 2019 in Dortmund: more than 85,000 trainers attended the 4-day event with 200,000 trainers playing in the area near Dortmund. The Coaches present witnessed how the Team GO Rocket balloon furrowed the skies!
  • Team GO Rocket invaded Pokémon GO: they were made with the announcements of the subway stations in New York, with our marketing channels and above all they devastated with all the Poképaradas and with their dark Pokémon. Coaches around the world formed an alliance to fight Team GO Rocket and repel their invasion of the world of Pokémon GO.
  • Rayquaza returned to the raids with a radiant revelation: Rayquaza, who is usually elusive, reappeared in Pokémon GO and, this time, the Trainers had the opportunity to meet a Rayquaza variocolor! We celebrated his radiant return with an epic trailer and giant announcements in Shibuya that were awarded.

August

  • Pokémon GO Festival 2019 in Yokohama: more than 150,000 Trainers attended our first Pokémon GO Festival in East Asia, where more than 24,000,000 Pokémon were trapped in the Akarenga, Rinko and Yamashita parks. In this summary blog, the most knowledgeable Coaches even realized that the first letter of the phrases about the three bonuses of the week spelled "Teselia." It was an allusion to the next arrival of the Pokémon discovered in the region of Teselia. Thank you for this fabulous summer of Pokémon GO!

  • The world expanded with the arrival of the Pokémon discovered in the region of Teselia: Coaches discovered that their Pokédex expanded by meeting Pokémon like Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott for the first time in Pokémon GO. This also marked the presentation of the Teselia Stone, a new evolutionary object that is used for certain Pokémon to evolve.

October

  • New Taipei Safari Zone: more than 327,000 trainers from all over the world accompanied us in New Taipei, traveled 4,500,000 kilometers and caught a total of 50,000,000 Pokémon!
  • Pokémon GO Halloween 2019: Darkrai, Yamask and other Pokémon dressed up for Halloween debuted during this spooky and fun Halloween event.

November

  • A colossal discovery: Regirock, Regice and Registeel returned to the raids, and this time they were accompanied in a special investigation. For a limited time, the Coaches were able to buy a ticket for the special research history event where they could obtain as a reward an encounter with Regigigas, the Colossal Pokémon.
  • Cobalion: The Legendary trio came to Pokémon GO with Cobalion leading the charge.
  • Professor Willow's Report: Stalking in the Shadows: For the first time, Professor Willow shared his research record while developing the Rocket radar and the Rocket superradar. He did so in an effort to mobilize all the Coaches in the world and to rise up against the threat of Team GO Rocket. In this journey, the Professor and the team leaders encountered even the leaders of Team GO Rocket. Although the first races did not end quite well, the team leaders made an epic comeback in the following matches.
  • Team GO leaders Rocket and Giovanni land on Pokémon GO: the threat of Team GO Rocket became even bigger when summoning the high command. The Coaches kept track of Team GO leaders Rocket Cliff, Sierra and Arlo with the recent development of Professor Willow: the Rocket radar. With the completion of the special investigation Stalking in the dark, the Coaches received a Rocket superradar and were able to find and fight against Giovanni, the head of Team GO Rocket, for the first time in the history of Pokémon GO!

December

  • We celebrate 2019 with the December Community Day: to celebrate the year, the Coaches participated in a special two-day event where the Community Day meetings and bonuses serve to thank you for joining us on the Days of the Community of 2019.
  • Evolution event: many things can change in a year, even in an instant! To close 2019 well, Coaches from around the world joined together to celebrate the evolution of the Pokémon. One of the greatest lessons we have learned with Pokémon is that it can evolve into a surprising and cool being, only, sometimes, we need a little help.
