Niantic has revealed a new event for Pokémon GO within the program of activities for the countdown to the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the saga. After Kalos, Unova, Sinnoh, Hoenn, and Johto, Team GO Rocket again makes an appearance and interrupts the Celebration Events with their own. Let’s take a look at the confirmed dates, activities and details, as there are quite interesting news.

Team GO Rocket Celebration Event: Date, Details and Features

As we see from the official blog, the dark Pokémon are back around our environment due to the emergence of the well-known team of villains. Let’s start with the dates: the Team GO Rocket Celebration Event starts this Tuesday, February 2 at 10:00 a.m. local time, and ends on Sunday, February 7 at 8:00 p.m. local time. It will be then when we see new Pokémon in the raids, as a result of hatching Eggs of different distances, as well as new Pokémon in the wild, compared to those we had seen in recent days, with an emphasis this time on dark Pokémon.

  • Pokémon turned dark by Team GO Rocket recruits: Swinub, Nosepass, Aron, Spheal, Lileep, Anorith and more.
  • Team GO Rocket recruits will have different teams of Pokémon during and after the event.
  • If we beat the Team GO Rocket leaders during the event we can get a special sticker.
  • Most Common Pokémon in the Wild: Golbat, Koffing, Ariados, Qwilfish, Sneasel, Houndour, Nuzleaf, Stunky, Skorupi, and Venipede.
  • Pokémon in the strange 12km Eggs: Qwilfish, Larvitar, Corphish, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby and Deino.
  • Exclusive field research tasks with rewards (to be determined).
  • Pokémon in 1-star raids: Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Gligar, Sneasel, Shinx, and Klink.
  • Pokémon in 3-star raids: Nidoqueen, Ariados, Umbreon, Tyranitar, and Absol.
  • Pokémon in 5-star raids: Raikou and Suicune, who will take over from Entei.
  • Raikou: From Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Suicune: From Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
  • Mega Raid Pokémon: Mega Venusaur, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Houndoom.

During the event, the distance to hatch Eggs will be 50%. For example, 10 km will need 5 km; those of 12 km, 6 km.
