On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Pokémon and the fifth of Pokémon GO, Niantic presents this event with the 150 of the Kanto region. Outstanding news.
Pokémon will live in 2021 a year of celebration. If the main saga will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary, Pokémon GO will do the same with its fifth anniversary. Niantic wants to celebrate it in style and, therefore, they will take as a base the place where it all began: Kanto. Let’s take a look at what awaits us with the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event.
Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto; all 150 original Pokémon reunited
As explained on the official blog, Trainers will be able to meet the 150 original Pokémon from the Kanto region in both their standard and shiny / variocolor forms; some of them for the first time in this alternative chromatic aspect. In fact, some will remain after the event is over.
Likewise, a new line of special research will start on the occasion of the event, Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, complemented by a second line of special research with more complex challenges. The reward is obvious: the chance to meet shiny Mew.
Pokémon GO Tour Kanto Event
Date, time and characteristics of Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
The event will begin next Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 09:00 and will end that same day, that same Saturday, at 21:00 (local time). That date is no coincidence, since February 26 is the 25th anniversary of Pokémon and, as expected, we will have some kind of weighty novelty related to the saga. Broadly speaking, this is all that we can find during the event:
- All of Kanto’s original Pokémon will spawn in the wild, in raids, completing research tasks, lured by incense, or as a result of evolutions.
- All the Pokémon, the 150 of the Kanto Pokédex, can be captured in a shiny / shiny way.
- We will have a special research task on the occasion of the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. If we complete it, we will find a “special Pokémon”.
- When we complete the first line of investigation we will have a second that has Shiny / Shiny Mew as a reward.
- We will get more candies per catch in the Kanto Pokémon.
- The distance for the Exchanges is 40 kilometers
- All Trainers can find Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo in Raids with exclusive moves.
- There will be more Kanto Pokémon in raids.
Choose the Green Version or the Red Version: Differences in Pokémon
Finally, it should be noted that we can choose the Green Edition or the Red Edition, just as the original Game Boy video games were published in Japan back in 1996. As in its day, choosing one edition or another will precipitate that we find some Pokémon of exclusive way; everything will depend on the version.
- Red Version Exclusives: Ekans, Oddish, Mankey, Growlithe, Scyther, and Electabuzz will be drawn to the incenses. - Exclusive to the Green version: Sandshrew, Vulpix, Meowth, Bellsprout, Magmar and Pinsir will be drawn to the incense. Increased chance of finding Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pidgey, Pikachu, Sandshrew, Male Nidoran, Vulpix, Meowth, Psyduck, Bellsprout, Geodude, Exeggcute, Hitmonchan, Koffing, Tangela, Horsea, Magmar, Pinsir, Eevee, Omanyte in shiny form and Dratini.
