It is a free-to-play title of the MOBA genre that will be released both on Nintendo Switch and on iOS and Android devices.

TiMi Studios continues to work on Pokémon Unite, a MOBA based on the popular saga by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. The game is in beta in Canada, so some gameplay videos have been released. Although some of them have already been eliminated, you can still see first-hand how this project works, which will offer us five-against-five team matches.

This new production will adopt the free-to-play model, so that it can be accessed completely free of charge, although of course it will incorporate microtransactions. Masaki Hoshino, who serves as producer, has confirmed that the title will have cross-play. And it is that Pokémon Unite does not come out exclusively on Nintendo Switch, but it can also be downloaded from iOS and Android mobile devices. The title, which follows some League of Legends guidelines, will feature Pokémon from all generations. We will have to fight to get the maximum score.

No confirmed release date

After several betas, Pokémon Unite has yet to announce a release date. At the moment the studio is polishing the gaming experience. This is an important year for the Pokémon saga, since it celebrates nothing more and nothing less than 25 years since the premiere of the first video game, the Red and Blue editions (green in Japan).

The Pokémon Company will celebrate the anniversary with a new music album inspired by the nineties, but also working on new video games. In addition to New Pokémon Snap, which will go on sale next April 30 for Nintendo Switch. Next on the list are the remakes of Pokémon Pearl and Diamond, which will respect the original gameplay as much as possible, although they will show a renewed graphic appearance. This project is planned for the end of 2021, while Pokémon Legends: Arceus, GameFreak’s new open-world project, will be commercialized in early 2022 in the Kyoto Hybrid.
