PS4 firmware 7.01 released for download

Playfront

Just before the end of the year Sony has a new firmware update for the PlayStation 4 in stock, which is now available.

The new PS4 Firmware 7.01 can be downloaded via the automatic download or later via the PlayStation support pages and manually installed. The first method is of course more convenient.

However, major changes to the system are not expected again. Thus, the official changelog again speaks of a stability and performance update. Great new features are therefore not included, which will probably only be implemented again with the next major version jump.

In the changelog it is therefore only:

  • This system software update improves system performance.

Of course, the new firmware includes all features of the past update, including the larger group chats, remote play and much more. Completely new features are expected next year with version 8.00.
