
Mark Cerny, creator of Crash Bandicoot, architect of PS4 and PS5 and one of the most illustrious names in history will be in this digital edition of Gamelab.
This year’s edition of the Barcelona Gamelab, which will be held digitally due to the coronavirus health crisis, continues to incorporate distinguished names. The recently confirmed attendance of Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, is now joined by Mark Cerny, who will host the presentation of the internal architecture of PS5, since he is the person in charge, and who was also a designer. from PlayStation 4.
However, Cerny will not be to talk about the next generation, but to have a conversation with another famous face who has also confirmed his presence as Ken Levine, creator of Bioshock and who is currently working on his first game after the closing of Irrational Games, and of which at the moment there is no news. Both will discuss the changes in the role of creative director in video game development.
Cerny began his career in the industry in the early 80s, in Atari, then signed for Sega and worked on the development of Sonic 2, among others. Later, he would become president of Universal Interactive Studios, to become part of Naughty Dog, where he would create the popular Crash Bandicoot. He would also work with Insomniac Games in the creation of Spyro the Dragon. Currently he is in charge of the internal architecture of the PlayStation consoles, being the person in charge of the present and future generation.
