Ubisoft details which video games in its catalog will not work on Sony’s next-generation console; they will work on Xbox Series X and Series S.

Ubisoft has detailed which video games in its PS4 catalog will not finally be backward compatible with PS5, including several installments of the Assassin’s Creed saga. This has been shared through an official statement a few days after the launch of Sony’s new generation console, confirming that games such as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (one of the main installments of the saga), the different deliveries of the spin-off Chronicles, Risk or Werewolves Within, among others, will not work on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility.

Ubisoft does not detail the reasons

Here is the complete list of Ubisoft video games that will not be backward compatible with PlayStation 5:

  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia
  • Risk
  • Star Trek Bridge Crew
  • Werewolves Within
  • Space junkies

“On Xbox Series X and Series S all of our Xbox One games will be backward compatible. On PlayStation 5 all games will be backward compatible except the following ”, we can read in the official statement, games that you can see just in the previous paragraph. Beyond the list of games, Ubisoft has not detailed the reasons why these 8 games and the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles compilation will not work on PlayStation 5.

And it is that recently, Sony confirmed the list of 10 PS4 games that will finally not work on PS5 through backward compatibility, to which we must now add these 10 from Ubisoft and of which there was still no news about whether they would work or not .

Recall that Sony includes the following message in reference to PS4 backward compatibility: “To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest version of the software.
