Denuvo, Irdeto’s anti-cheat technology, will join the PlayStation 5 Tools and Middleware program, as the company announced in an official statement. The system will be compatible with PS5 and will offer the possibility for publishers and developers who wish to make use of it. It will not affect the performance of games
According to the company, Denuvo’s anti-cheat technology incorporates security options for both online and offline modes of video games. “The technology helps game developers protect sensitive data and prevent cheats from sensibly modifying variables, ensuring their reliability.” According to Denuvo, several launch games included this technology in the PS5 launch. They have also ensured that there will be no negative impact on the performance of the games and that it does not use an intrusive methodology.
“Cheating spoils video games for honest gamers,” says Reinhard Blaukovitsch, director of Denuvo at Irdeto. The manager maintains that these practices can affect company revenues and interaction with players. “We are truly proud to be able to help the world’s most talented developers deliver rich experiences for PS5 players.”
