Now that numerous developers are already supplied with the PS5 dev kits, Sony can already collect initial feedback on it, which is quite positive. For example, there is an article in Dengeki PlayStation Magazine, Japan, with Sony Interactive Entertainment Head of Independent Developer Initiative, Shuhei Yoshida, who talks about the experiences with the PS5 so far.
The developers agree that developing the games has never been easier. At the same time, you can now concentrate more on the essentials, namely developing exciting games, since you don't have to constantly struggle with any hardware hurdles.
Although this "lighter approach" already existed with the PS4 at the time, according to Yoshida it was a real advantage for the developers this time, according to Yoshida. Now it is a matter of creating fun user experience and driving up the level of visual quality. The tools are there and it is now in the hands of the developers to deal with it.
The PS5 will be available in late 2020.
