PS5 event: we will be able to see in 4K “most” of trailers on YouTube

After confirming that it is recommended to watch the event with headphones and that the content will be offered in 1080p and 30 FPS, Sony sends a message of calm.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed in a voice from its communications director, Sid Shuman, that the presentation event of the first PS5 games planned for Thursday will be seen in “most” of its trailers and advances in 4K resolution through YouTube once the broadcast ends.

“This prerecorded program will be broadcast in 1080p at 30 FPS,” reads the official note issued this Monday where the event broadcast date was updated, this June 11 at 22:00 (CEST). The decision, which did not sit well with a considerable cast of players who are fans of the PlayStation brand, is now nuanced by the company itself: later the advances and videos will be uploaded to YouTube in Ultra HD.

The reason why there will be no option to follow the broadcast of PS5 in 4K is because rendering the videos at a lower quality “has streamlined the production process of the event at a time when a large part of our team and our developers are teleworking” .

All in all, the presentation of the first PS5 games will take place a week after what was initially planned (June 4 at the same time) after giving a week of prominence to the Black Lives Matter social movement as a protest against police violence against race black that is taking place in the United States. It should be noted that they recommend that we watch the broadcast with headphones because there is “a lot of amazing audio” whose nuances we will appreciate better than with speakers.

Everything indicates that studios like Bluepoint Games, in charge of Shadow of the Colossus, will show their new PS5 project at the event; They have hinted that we will see him at the event. Also Guerrilla Games, authors of Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Until that moment, we invite you to read this article, where we talk about all the confirmed games for now for PlayStation 5. In this other report we cover everything we know about the console.
