How to download free games on PS5
The first and most important thing once you have your PS5 at home is that you create an account on PlayStation Network. That way, you can access the PS Store, Sony’s official digital store built into all PS5 and PS5 Digital Editions. In it there are many categories, but the one that interests us the most is that of free games.
It should be noted that the concept of “free game” has many nuances, since the vast majority (almost all) maintain a business model based on microtransactions, something especially important to know for parents or guardians who allow minors to play at the console. The term free to play means that the game is free to download, but may include DLC, micropayments, loot boxes, and other methods of financing titles, so developers can monetize their works despite being free.
How to Download PS Plus Games on PS5
There are two methods to access PS Plus games, but the first and foremost thing is to have an active PSN account with PS Plus. The current prices of this subscription modality, which offers at least 2 free PS4 games per month and one PS5 game (with an undefined periodicity) to be able to play without limit while we are subscribed, is as follows:
- 1 month PS Plus subscription: 8.99 euros
- 3-month PS Plus subscription: 24.99 euros (8.33 euros / month)
- 12-month PS Plus subscription: 59.99 euros (5.99 euros / month)
Finally, we remind that all PS5 players and are subscribed to PS Plus have free access to 20 defining PS4 games, the PS Plus Collection.
