PS5: More unconfirmed leaks on price, launch date, games & more

Playfront

Just a few days ago there was a possible leak in the 4Chan forum, which related to the expected PS5 event in February. This is followed today by further information from the same source, which is still unconfirmed.

Since nobody currently knows exactly how much truth is in it, you still have to look at it with some skepticism and simply wait and see what is true and what is not. However, they always give rise to discussions.

So this time it says that backward compatibility will be a big issue on the PS5 and will go back to the PSone. This should make the PS5 the “ultimate PlayStation console” that encompasses the present and the past. Further details are yet to follow.

This time, the full compatibility of existing hardware such as the DualShock 4 controller, PlayStation Move and PSVR is also taken up. This has already been partially confirmed by Sony or appears logical in the case of the DS4 in order to ensure full downward compatibility.

In terms of games, titles like Gran Turismo 7, MLB The Show 21, Demon Souls Remastered, Godfall and Legendz (a new IP from SIE Santa Monica Studio) are mentioned, which should be available directly at the launch of the PS5. Games like Horizon 2, a new Spider Man from Insomniac Games, a new Crash Bandicoot, and a new Sci-Fi IP from Naughty Dog are also in the works. In addition, SIE Japan and London Studio will work on new brands for the PS5, as well as Final Fantasy XVI and a new Resident Evil title.

Launch date and price?

Also for a possible launch date and the price, one would like to have information that the PS5 should already be on the market in October, at a price of USD 499 / £ 449 UK / € 449 EU / ¥ 54.999 JP. A pro model is not planned for the time being.

Regarding the specifications, it is said that they are pretty much identical to the new Xbox, even if the new Xbox should cost around $ 100 / EUR more. In this case, 10 teraflops are mentioned on the PS5.

A lot of previews of the games are expected shortly afterwards for the PlayStation Meeting and PS5 Reveal Event. The pre-orders of the PS5 should also start at the same time. You also want to know that Sony will participate in this year's E3. According to recent reports, however, this is either still on the brink or Sony is avoiding the E3 and will instead be holding its own event.

Finally, you also want to know the slogan of the PS5, which is ‘IT’S TIME TO PLAY’ and should reflect the PlayStation brand as a whole.

As mentioned at the beginning, there is no confirmation that even an info of this is true. Some of it is already known, others would be logical conclusions, others will almost certainly arrive sooner or later. Until then, however, they will provide new topics of conversation, even if only as a rumor!
