PS5: Most PS4 games are backward compatible to launch

Playfront

The issue of backward compatibility of the PS5 has put Sony under a lot of pressure compared to the Xbox Series X, which is why they are doing everything they can to ensure that the feature is fully available.

It was recently said that over 4000 PS4 titles will be compatible with the PS5, you are now assured that this will be the case directly at the launch in autumn. At least that’s how it can be read in the current edition of Official PlayStation Magazine UK, which speaks of the “vast majority”.

Unfortunately, backward compatibility is not a given on the PS5, since the hardware is many times stronger than the PS4. Therefore, all titles have to be tested gradually, also with a view to how they can benefit from the PS5 hardware. Whether Sony is now providing additional resources for this can only be speculated. But apparently you know that the topic is important to users.

The PS5 will be available around Christmas 2020.
