Following the measure determined by Sony to limit store pickups only to those who have a PS5 reserve, GAME explains what to do and how to proceed.
The current health situation, with a COVID-19 reminding that the pandemic is still there, has led to a precautionary measure by Sony so that there are no crowds in stores on the launch day of PlayStation 5 around the world; Spain included. In this way, only those who have a reservation can pick up their console in physical stores; the rest will have to opt for an online purchase. GAME Spain, the well-known chain of stores, has explained how they will act in this case.
On November 19 it will not be useful to go “to take a look”: there will be no consoles available; only reservations.
How is the situation with the purchase of PS5 this November 19 in Spain
In case there is still any doubt, the message from PlayStation was very clear: “There will be no units available for sale in physical stores on launch day, November 19, so don’t plan on visiting your regular store on launch day hoping to find a PS5 console for sale. Protect your health, stay home and order online ”.
- If you have a reservation in store you can go to your store; although you can choose to speak with your provider to switch to home delivery.
- If you don’t have a PS5 reserved in store, don’t bother going on November 19: there will be no units. Online only.
The only difference between PS5 (left) and PS5 Digital Edition (right) is the disc reader and its price, 499 euros and 399 euros. They are the same inside.

Comfort and safety. Those are the two main words that stand out from the GAME Spain statement published this Thursday night. Avoid crowds in stores on November 19 for those who want to try their luck and take a look at their trusted store “just in case there is any PS5 left” will not be possible.
Reserve in store: choose a time to pick up your console
In the GAME statement, everything is explained in detail for members who have a reservation planned to be picked up at the store, who must enter the My reservations section when logging in and then Pick up. By clicking on Select and a calendar will be displayed with a specific time slot to go to our store and, we insist, avoid crowds. The hours that we will see in the calendar are subject to different variables: business hours of the store (which can be within a specific shopping center with its own hours) perimeter zone with specific hours …), etc.
PS5 comes with a stand to arrange the console vertically or horizontally. In the latter case it is important to center the position so that it does not wobble.
Home delivery or change from store collection to home delivery
Staying home is the best thing to do. If you have configured that your PS5 is delivered to your home … you don’t have to do anything. Everything is still in order. Now, if you had configured that your PS5 be delivered in a store and now you want that shipment to be to your home on November 19, GAME ensures the following: “GAME.es works with the main transport companies nationwide and with new generation companies of delivery in the day or delivery in two hours ”, thus the things, the most probable thing is that the delivery will be the day of launching, but the 100% guarantee does not exist. “The order is prepared the days prior to launch and sent in advance in order to guarantee that it arrives on the estimated delivery date with the quality that we guarantee in all our articles. Canary Islands, appointment change, shops closed and more frequently asked questions
Another point to keep in mind is for residents of the Canary Islands. The inhabitants of the archipelago have only one option: to make an appointment to pick up their reservation at the store. “You cannot currently select home delivery”, is wielded in the official note of GAME Spain.
