PS5: Sony patents a system to combat the traps in its games

The Japanese company has received approval of the registration this November 25. It will allow to improve the security systems in the games.

Sony Interactive Entertainment America has applied the registration of a new security system for its consoles. The Japanese company, currently immersed in the launch of PlayStation 5 next year, thus closes a new measure focused on the user experience for future projects.

The document, housed in the Google patent database in the United States, explains a new cheat identification methodology during games with an algorithm capable of expelling those who act illegitimately autonomously thanks to a developed artificial intelligence .

Sony intends to keep its servers completely clean in the future, where PS5 is a priority, and for this the new system will have a scheme for locating behaviors that violate the normality of multiplayer games in real time. PlayStation Network networks will be clean without the strictly necessary intervention of those responsible for these tasks in the company.

“Once an inconsistency between the game data and a metric of the game has been identified – which could be indicative of an illegal game – a validation process (passive, active or hybrid) will be implemented in order to confirm the existence of that illegal practice ”, Can be read in the document, available for reading publicly. To that is added. "Alternatively, an action will be taken to maintain the integrity of the player community without confirmation, where devices that have allegedly carried out illegal practices are outside the network."

Several PlayStation patents during the month of November

This past Monday we echoed the registration applied in the United States Patent Office, a document that detailed a new process of labeling and content management by which PlayStation users can make captures and recordings while playing, but this time with labeled to facilitate the taking of annotations and filter those contents. In addition, the possibility is mentioned that the spectators can join the game at the exact moment they are watching the budding video game; something similar to one of the novelties that Google Stadia intends to incorporate in 2020.

There are more patents recently officially registered by Sony in recent days; like the one that referenced physical SSD memory cartridges, which will finally be used for a new version of the Sony TOIO robot and not for PS5. Also, last week we met the application of a patent related to the future PlayStation 5 controller, similar in design to the current DualShock 4 but with a few new features such as the already confirmed haptic vibration.

PlayStation 5 will launch at Christmas 2020. We don't know the exact date, price and catalog of launch titles; yes, it will be compatible with the PS Now service and backward compatible with PS4.
