PS5: Sony promises further & unique features

Playfront

So far, Sony has only presented a handful of features that the PS5 will have. There was an overview of this again this week at CES.

These include, for example, 3D audio sound, haptic feedback, the Ultra-Fast SSD, hardware-based ray tracing and UHD support. Sony Interactive President Jim Ryan told Japanese business insider magazine that more features of the PS5 will be revealed in the coming months.

So you continue to hold back the trump cards, from which the PS5 will primarily differ from the previous consoles.

"The PS5 offers more than traditional game consoles, and we haven't announced any" major differences "yet."

This could point to backward compatibility, which is still unclear to what extent it can be used on the PS5. According to the latest reports, Sony does not seem to be satisfied with the fact that the games are simply backwards compatible. Rather, it should have its own engine here, which will upgrade older games again.

In any case, for Sony it is clear that at the start of the PS5 there will be a significant proportion of players who will immediately migrate to the new console and who will therefore have to surprise and entertain them with new features.

"We have to come up with a new attraction, and this year will be a more difficult and special year with the introduction of new game consoles."

More details are expected in the coming months.
