The creators of Until Dawn, who have already experimented with Dual Shock 4, are already thinking about functions to implement in their games.
The recent presentation of DualSense, the controller of the future PlayStation 5, has blown the imagination of some developers with the possibilities it can offer. Some of them are Supermassive Games, which will soon launch the new installment of their global horror experience The Dark Pictures, Little Hope (which we have already been able to see in depth), who are excited with all that DualSense can do and they already have several ideas in mind.
DualSense, source of new possibilities
The British studio, which has already made use of some functions of the Dual Shock 4 in Until Dawn, the exclusive PlayStation 4, is already collecting news to implement in its future releases thanks to the new features of the DualSense. "We have been talking about how we are going to use it for some time," said Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive.
Samuels also believes that all of these features will help bring the character closer to the player, thanks in particular to the touch features. "As for its touchpad, the more you can transfer the character experience directly to the player, the closer this character will feel to that player," he said.
Likewise, he also thinks that they can take advantage of the microphone and the speaker, even better in this new remote. "The voice checks we did earlier were actually virutal, so they made a lot of sense since it was you in the game," he begins explaining. “However, in a third-person game it may make less sense. Despite this, we have already had some conversation about things we could do, and others that we could incorporate the game since we saw the announcement of the DualSense ”.
In Supermassive they are not the only ones excited with the new PlayStation 5 controller. Not only in Naughty Dog they like, as we saw before, but also Pete Hines, from Bethesda, who was "very impressed" with the DualSense. This new controller will have, as we have mentioned, not only a microphone, speaker and again a touch panel, but also the new haptic technology that will allow us to experience different sensations depending also on the genre we play.
Meanwhile, we can expect The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope to appear sometime this summer, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
