PS5 technology is "a big step forward in audio and immersion"

The owner of an audio design company that works in video games speaks wonders of the capabilities of PlayStation 5 in this section.

While Sony does not officially give the specifications of PlayStation 5, for the moment we have to comply with the statements of those who are already working with it to learn what the new generation will be capable of. Yesterday we saw how Yoshida has already collected statements from several developers ensuring how simple it is to create video games for her, and today we know some details of the sound section from who works on it first hand.

The sound capabilities of PlayStation 5

Samuel Justice owns Sweet Justice Sound Ltd, a company that works on sound design for triple A video games, and has claimed that PS5 technology is "a big step forward" for gaming audio, and that it will contribute to "experiences richer "in this next generation that comes to us at the end of this year 2020 that begins in a few days.

"I think the power needed to create realistic audio models has been ignored for a long time," says Justice. "In the past we have handled good representations of acoustic models thanks to tricks and intelligent techniques, but the ability to create 3D audio is a huge step forward for video game sound and will really result in much richer experiences."

Meanwhile, Marcus Klang, game sound designer for PlayStation VR Ghost Giant, says that "it improves the feeling of realism with more precise adjustments for the audio depending on the environment surrounding the player, in real time."

PlayStation 5 will arrive in stores at the end of 2020, its presentation still pending in society, still knowing some of the games that will be part of its launch catalog. On the contrary, we could already see the final design of Xbox Series X, the new Microsoft console, in the last edition of The Game Awards.
