Quantic Dream loses lawsuit against employees in the scandal reproach (Update)

Playfront

A few months ago, developer Quantic Dream came into focus with some negative headlines after former employees claimed to have been confronted with inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Now, Quantic Dream has suffered a first defeat in this case, even though this is due to special French labor law.

At that time it was about the fact that in the studio were probably inappropriate things like Photoshop montages in circulation, the staff showed as Nazis or porn actor. Although this was described by the leadership around Studios boss David Cage as "shocking", the said employee complained anyway and won now in the first instance.

In France, if you see yourself as a victim in your job, you may be able to resign and not receive a salary. At the same time, however, you can also sue for an unjustified dismissal and work through this process, as it really is about the working conditions in the said company. The Labor Court then decides whether the dismissal / dismissal was justified or the employee receives compensation and unemployment rights.

In this case, it was decided for the first time in favor of the employee, which means a first defeat for Quantic Dream. In earlier cases, however, was already decided for Quantic Dream, so they now want to appeal. In addition, Quantic Dream continues against journalists who examine the studio so in their opinion and in a bad light.

Update: In a recent ruling, Quantic Dream has finally lost the process and has to assign a compensation of EUR 5,000 to a former IT employee, as well as another 2,000 for legal costs. Quantic Dream is accused of violating the safety obligations as an employer.

Apart from that, one continues to object to the magazine Le Monde and its story about the studio from the past year. Here is a decision in the coming days.
