Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Void Edge launched

‘Rainbow Six Siege’ is also starting a new season today with ‘Operation Void Egde’, the details of which Ubisoft summarizes again. Players can now look forward to the new Operator Iana and Oryx, a revised version of the Oregon map and the new Ash Elite set: Lara Croft.

The new operators are immediately available to holders of the Year 5 Pass. Otherwise, these can be unlocked from March 17th with prestige and R6 credits. Additional season content, including the revamped Oregon map, is available free of charge to all players.

Players encounter two new operators in Operation Void Edge:

  • Iana is the new attacker from the Netherlands who has a Gemini replicator and can therefore control a holographic representation of herself. As soon as she uses the Gemini, she can scout ahead with almost no consequences. The hologram can move and produces the same sounds that Iana would make. However, it cannot shoot, perform close attacks, or use other secondary devices. The replicator has a time limit and can be deactivated at any time. In addition, the clone Ianas is supposed to deceive opponents and collect information. If the Gemini is discovered and destroyed by a defender, the Iana can give an indication of the position of the threat. On the other hand, this also gives the opponents a few precious seconds in which they can reposition themselves.
  • The new defender from Jordan, Oryx, has a characteristic action, the Remah Rush. Its speed enables it to move efficiently and to cover short distances with incredible speed. His ability can also be used to knock enemies over. The Remah rush can also break through destructible walls. Oryx creates large openings, but loses health every time he uses the breakthrough action. Oryx also has the unique ability to interact with open hatches. For a quick change of position, he can climb straight through or hang on the edge to peek and wait for the perfect moment to climb. While hanging, Oryx can choose to drop if climbing seems too dangerous.

The map reworking continues with Operation Void Edge this time in Oregon. With the update, most areas have become more open and structured. There are also new access and rotation points. The large tower is now directly connected to the kitchen, and a new area in the basement leads to the ground floor. Some doors have also been removed.

Additional game updates from Operation Void Edge include:

  • Barricade Debris Consistency: Destroying a barricade with a weapon or through melee hits now creates much smaller pieces of debris.
  • Attack drone spawn point: The drone spawn point is now on the same side of the building as the operator spawn point you selected first.
  • Changes in the player hub: The game area is being revised.
  • Changes in Lesion and Twitch: Lesion is no longer able to see its GU mines through all kinds of obstacles. When an opposing operator steps on a GU mine, there is no initial damage. The damage per tick was increased from 4 to 6. Regarding Twitch, her shock drone now starts with three shots, but has a decay system. Her firepower has also been reduced to 1 damage.
  • Operator discount: The prices for Mira and Jackal are 10,000 reputation or 240 R6 credits, Lion and Finka are reduced to 15,000 reputation or 350 R6 credits and the prices for Mozzie and Gridlock are reduced to 20,000 reputation or 480 R6 credits.
  • Void Edge Weapon Designs: Three new Season weapon designs, each with their own distinctive style, will be available this season. First, the sleek saber-engraved design, second, the playful clog dance weapon design, and third, the colorful river scales design.
  • Year 5 Pass: The Year Pass includes access to 6 new Year 5 operators, including 6 new exclusive headwear and uniforms for them. The players receive the same VIP benefits as always. As a thank you for the Year 4 Pass holders who renew their Pass for Year 5, they will also receive 2 legendary and 3 epic Alpha Packs in addition to 600 R6 credits.

In addition, a new elite set for Ash has been added: Tomb Raider. Ash slips into the identity of Lara Croft and does her job in this way: to fall head over heels for the good of everyone. Players can explore the far corners of all cards with Ash’s Lara Croft uniform, headgear, victory animation, device and weapon design.
