Red Dead Redemption 2 is updated on PC to solve stability problems

The Rockstar Games game continues to receive patches to improve some aspects that still presented problems.

It was announced by surprise and left weeks later in the Epic Game Store and in the official Rockstar Games launcher. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a reality on PC, although its launch has also been accompanied by some problems. However, the North American developer works on filing rough edges and has published a new patch with which they intend to fix certain instabilities, some of which cause crashes.

This used to occur when there was little memory or depending on the hardware of the computer, such as the Nvidia GTX 970 graphics card. On the other hand, the game was experiencing a problem that could cause the loss of progress due to the corruption of the save file. This could happen by not being logged into the Social Club while playing Story Mode.

Other changes

The patch also adds the environmental occlusion in the graphics configuration menu, which will be accessible to all those who play at the highest quality (Ultra). In addition, Rockstar Games has worked on improving the pixelated shadows of objects in cinematic scenes. Beyond this, the update does not add any extra functionality. This is a patch specially focused on improving the overall performance of the game.

One of the problems that the players detected was that the passage of time passed differently with respect to the console version. That was because time cycles were linked to framerate, so that depending on the rate of images per second, anomalies occurred. This bug was corrected in another recent update.

Red Dead Redemption 2 went on sale in consoles in October 2018. Its launch on PC has been staggered and will be completed with the commercialization of the title on Steam, scheduled for December 5.
