The former president of Nintendo of America will take the stage to act as a presenter, months after he will retire from the industry.

There are barely a few days left for The Game Awards 2019 and the list of reasons to watch the gala continues to increase. The last one has to do with Reggie Fils-Aimé, former president of Nintendo of America, whose appearance on stage has been confirmed by the event's Twitter account. Reggie, one of the most iconic personalities of the sector during the last decade, will accompany Geoff Keighley as the presenter of the awards and will not be the only one. Both will be accompanied by Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker, two of the Teleñecos.

It will not be the first time in the TGA, neither of Reggie nor of the muppets. The former president of Nintendo, who since retiring last April is dedicated to giving classes on "leadership, conscious capitalism and services" at the prestigious Cornell University, already appeared in The Game Awards 2018 and left us one of The great images of the event. A snapshot that joined Phil Spencer (head of Microsoft), Shawn Layden (Sony) and Reggie Fils-Aimé himself, three of the pillars of the video game industry at the same time. A moment that united the three companies (something unthinkable a few years ago) and wanted to demonstrate the maturity and good health of the sector. Perhaps this year his presence does not reach such magnitude, but it will serve as a nice tribute to his figure. On the other hand, the teleñecos also had representation in the ceremony last year, in which Pepe the King Gamba and the streamer Ninja read one of the prizes together.

More than 15 ads and surprises at the gala

There is no doubt that The Game Awards 2019 will not be without ads. The gala, which will last 2 hours and a half and will take place on Friday, December 13 at 02:30 in the morning (Spanish local time), is again organized by Keighley, who has promised, as is tradition, the announcement of more than 15 new games, as well as trailers and unpublished images of the most anticipated releases of 2020, such as Elden Ring.
