Resident Evil 2 Remake looks more real than ever thanks to mods with ray tracing

Resident Evil 2 Remake looks more real than ever thanks to mods with ray tracing

A user manages to improve the visual aspect of the Capcom remake to levels never seen before: improvements in shadows, reflections, contrast and lighting.

Resident Evil 2 Remake already offers an absolutely overwhelming staging, with a love of detail and a graphic section at the highest level, thus enhancing its terrifying character to the fullest; but apparently there is still room for improvement. Or so the YouTube user AD Massicuro believes, who has created some graphic mods that elevate the visual set of the Capcom title to another level.

Video gameplay with the new mods

Thus, as the user demonstrates in a video uploaded to his channel, the results of these modifications are more than surprising, enhancing more than ever a graphic section in itself at the highest level. And it is that the same user has applied ray tracing, the technology increasingly present in new video games and that will be one of the great protagonists of the new generation.

Although beyond ray tracing, AD Massicuro's mods for the PC version of Resident Evil 2 Remake correct contrast, apply more detail to models, and enhance reflections and shadows, among other improvements. And to demonstrate such interesting results, in the same video several comparisons are made between the original version and the new modified one; and the changes are remarkable.

And it is that both the settings and the characters, be it Leon S. Kennedy himself or the different zombies with which the faces must be seen, offer a much more realistic aspect. Unfortunately, for the moment the author of these mods has not shared his work as it usually happens with this type of project, so we cannot verify the improvements in situ.

The demo of Resident Evil 3 Remake is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, while its release is still scheduled for April 3, 2020.
