Resident Evil 3 Remake can be completed only with the knife

If the pistol and the rest of the weapons were not enough, there will always be the knife to finish the job and kill a few zombies.

You have just fired the entire magazine of your pistol at a horde of zombies that is approaching slowly but inexorably. Hurry, you look to the right and to the left, but you see nothing that you can use against the enemy. Suddenly, you remember the knife you keep in your inventory. You take it out and start handing out bloody swords. Jill Valentine, protagonist of Resident Evil 3 Remake, will be able to use only her knife and end the adventure without using firearms, as confirmed by Capcom.

Unlike Resident Evil 2 Remake, whose knife broke after a couple of uses, the one in this third installment will be durable and cannot be broken. In an interview with Game Informer, producer Peter Fabiano has explained it in more detail. “We keep the knife unbreakable so you can always use it. We are in a survival horror in which everything is exhausted. You are lacking bullets, you are lacking healing herbs and you are left with no reserve of objects that you can use ”, he explained before pointing out that this does not apply to the knife.

According to Fabiano, if your inventory is empty, this edge will always be a viable option. "The director wanted to do it that way so you at least had the knife" at his disposal. "It is something you can always trust," he concludes before confirming that it will be possible to pass the video game with a clean knife, which does not mean that it is an easy task. In any case, the community will surely mark it as a challenge to complete.

Pistols are dangerous, but knives should not be underestimated.

The demo, data source for dataminers

A few days after the demo launched, dataminers got down to business and extracted the information hidden in the game's code. According to the data, the new Capcom title will implement four difficulty modes, as well as a New Game + mode, unlockable at the end of the first game. In addition, the leaks point to various cosmetic objects, among other elements.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is in development for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will hit stores on April 3.
