Resident Evil 8 Village will add a crafting system

Comedian Eiko Kano had the opportunity to test the video game exclusively during the Tokyo Game Show 2020.

Capcom’s survival horror par excellence will debut on the new generation of consoles with Resident Evil Village, a video game that will put aside the third-person camera to resume the style of the seventh installment of the saga. The video game, scheduled for next year, was present at the digital edition of the Tokyo Game Show 2020, an event that had to be held in this format due to the coronavirus crisis. During a stream, comedian Eiko Kano was able to try the game exclusively. The most interesting information is that Capcom has introduced crafting mechanics.

Although the gameplay has not been shown directly in the streaming, Kano’s impressions provide interesting information. When defeating the enemies, they leave not only money as in Resident Evil 4, but also materials. According to the comedian, they can be used in a new crafting mechanic, although he has not detailed how it will be. Kano has played the beginning of the game, which starts with a monster attack. As is hinted, the clashes will be common. In fact, he has suffered several Game Overs throughout his game. Despite being a specialist in Resident Evil, he added that he is “pretty bad” playing.

Throw a piece of furniture at the monster

Enemies will differ from those in Resident Evil VII: Biohazard as they move differently. Additionally, Kano underscores the paradox that some enemies go naked in completely wintry territory. The protagonist, Ethan Winters, only has a few weapons and some ammunition, so he must explore the surroundings, use furniture against monsters, etc.

Resident Evil Village will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. At the moment, a version for PS4 and Xbox One has not been officially announced, but during their conference at TGS 2020 they commented that the possibility is open. However, they cannot promise that it is possible. Time will tell.
