Resident Evil accumulates 100 million copies sold between all its deliveries

After revealing the total sales of its most important franchises, Capcom corrects itself by adding those of Resident Evil 3 Remake, reaching a milestone.

Just a few days ago we discovered the total sales of the most popular Capcom franchises, such as Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, Street Fighter, and of course, Resident Evil. The latter marked a large number of no less than 98 million copies sold in its entire history, but then Capcom had not taken into account those of Resident Evil 3 Remake, which according to the latest news is 2 million. That said, the Japanese company published a second report noting that Resident Evil has obviously already reached the magical figure of 100 million games sold among all the releases released so far.

The first report released this week by Capcom spoke, for example, of 63 million of Monster Hunter, 44 of Street Fighter or 33 of Devil May Cry, among many other licenses that Capcom owns. However, Resident Evil stands out from all of them and reaches no less than 98 million copies sold, without taking into account, as we said, the 2 million, according to the latest report, of Resident Evil 3.

How have you sold the franchise?

The total sales of Resident Evil are distributed in this way, according to the latest figures that are public. The best-selling installment is Resident Evil 5, with more than 12 million units sold, followed by Resident Evil 6 and closing the Resident Evil 4 podium, curiously three of the main installments most criticized for their greater orientation to action to the detriment of terror from the original trilogy.

Resident Evil 3

Below we find the most recent numbered installment that is not a remake, Resident Evil 7, followed by the highly successful Resident Evil 2 remake and the second original 1998 installment. They would close the Top 10, in this order, Resident Evil, their remake, Resident Evil 0 and the original Resident Evil 3, which is likely to be overtaken by its recent overhaul.
