Respawn insists, no Titanfall in development

There will be no Titanfall 3 for now, Respawn founder Vince Zampella confirms that the studio focuses on Apex Legends, Star War, and Medal of Honor.

Respawn Entertainment is celebrating its anniversary. The studio of Jason West and Vince Zampella turned ten years old last April and for this reason they have granted these days a curious interview to IGN in which they have reviewed the past and future of the developer. During it, there was talk, of course, of Titanfall, the first game of Respawn, which although it had an outstanding sequel in 2016 (Titanfall 2) and a mobile adaptation in 2017 (Titanfall Assault), has not returned to give signs of life since then, not even at the insistence of the fans. As he did in early 2019, when he denied new deliveries, Zampella wanted to confirm in the interview that "Right now there is nothing in development" that is related to the franchise, "but it is always there. You can see little winks in the Apex Legends lore. At some point I would love to see her resurrect. We'll see if I can make it happen. "

Titanfall 3

At the end of last year we echoed that EA was not clear about the future of the saga. Far from the success of Apex Legends, with more than 70 million players, the company wants to focus the studio's attention on its battle royale and combine it with more development at most. After Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (which received extra content on the occasion of Force Day), Respawn now joins all its efforts around Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, a project for virtual reality with which it intends to return to life one of the great names of the shooter genre. Between this development and the constant rumors about a sequel to Jedi Fallen Order, it does not seem that we are going to get on any titan in the short term, even if Zampella's statements do not finish closing the door.

New Respawn game?

And with everything, the founder of Respawn also had time in the interview to talk about the next EA Play Live, the digital event with which the company will celebrate "its own E3". "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will be out later this year, so we'll see if it appears. Of the rest of things I doubt what I can say because I want to surprise the fans. Is Zampella opening the door to an ad on EA Play Live? It will not take long to find out, since the conference will take place on June 12 at 01:00 in the morning (Spanish peninsular time). Cross our fingers.
