Retro Studios (Metroid Prime 4) hires artists from Battlefield and Star Wars

The Austin studio incorporates more veterans from the sector to its face template, presumably, upon the return of Samus Aran on Nintendo Switch.

Retro Studios continues to recruit professionals from the video game sector for the development of their next video games; Let's be sure, at least Metroid Prime 4 for Nintendo Switch. According to a latest report from VGC, the North American studio has now hired former employees of EA Visceral, Crystal Dynamics and Gearbox as VFX (visual special effects) artists.

We're talking about Adam Morales (with experience in Battlefield Hardline and Visceral Games' canceled Star Wars Ragtag, studio closed by EA in 2017), Bryan Erck (VFX chief designer in Shadow of the Tomb Raider in Crystal Dynamics) and Nicholas Wilson ( who worked over twelve years at Gearbox, authors of Borderlands).

Retro Studios continues to sign; Metroid Prime 4 is still silent

After the much-talked-about reboot of the game's development title in January 2019, Metroid Prime 4 fell into the hands of the authors of the original trilogy, the team based in Austin, Texas, but beyond numerous job vacancies and eventual additions to the ranks of the company, little we have known of a video game surrounded by secrecy; as well as the communication from Retro Studios itself.

In fact, at the moment, we do not know if Retro Studios is working on something else outside of Metroid Prime 4. Likewise, we cannot explicitly confirm that these hires are intended to be incorporated into the development of the fourth numbered installment or for other parallel projects, if any.

The last information we had regarding additions to the Austin, Texas team dates back to February, when we learned that they had hired a veteran designer who had worked at Super Lucky’s Tale.

At FreeGameTips we have studied everything that is known about the extensive development of Metroid Prime 4 before its restart. The game, directed by Shinya Takahashi and Kensuke Tanabe, hopes to be one of the great standard-bearers of Nintendo Switch in its second half of life, but it still does not have an indicative date. In this article we tell you how these twelve months of total silence have been; while in this chronicle we summarize what that reset was like.
