EA’s free-to-play video game arrives on the hybrid console this March, but its heavy weight will require an external storage unit.
Apex Legends for Nintendo Switch will require a free storage space of “at least” 30 GB, according to the official North American website of Nintendo. Although the eShop indicates that the weight of EA’s free-to-play video game will be 15.2 GB, the description of the game already mentions that this total will amount to more than 30 GB; presumably due to the application of additional patches or content packages, as we have already seen in numerous digital video games on the console.
“The game requires a download of at least 30GB using a wireless internet connection. You may also need to create or link a Nintendo Account. Requires a microSD card (sold separately). Storage requirements may change ”, reads the official description of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends comes to Nintendo Switch on March 9
Although Nintendo Switch has 32 GB of internal storage as standard, the actual free space for the player is 25.9 GB; the weight of the operating system is deducted from the total. Thus, as Apex Legends’ free space requirement is higher than the total internal storage of the console, it is necessary to use an external microSD memory card.
To check the available space in the memory of your Nintendo Switch console or in the microSD card that you have inserted, just follow the following steps from the HOME menu: choose “Console Settings”, then go down in that configuration menu and choose “Data Management”. From there you can manage all the programs, images and videos in order to free up space on your card if necessary.
Apex Legends will come to Nintendo Switch from the hand of Panic Button this March 9, 2021. It will be free (free-to-play) as in the rest of the platforms, with all the content and functions seen in other versions.
