Roberto Hernández, new director of MeriStation

The director of the Diario AS, Vicente Jiménez, has chosen Roberto Hernández (Madrid, 1969) as the new director of FreeGameTips, the videogame website of the newspaper. Hernández is a journalist specializing in video games and new technologies, topics on which he has been writing for thirty years. The also responsible for the design section of AS, has published his articles in different media and has already collaborated with the magazine since 2018.

With a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, Hernández began his professional career in the design department of Diario 16. Since then, he has specialized in topics related to video games and new technologies. In 1996, when PRISA acquired the header, he joined the AS staff, where he coordinated the games section both on paper and on the web.

A long career

In addition to his role as a designer since his time in Diario 16, he was also responsible for different products. Since 2000 he has been the head of the department of AS. He specializes in redesigns and has been a consultant for Mediation Consultants and Innovation International Media Consulting Group, along with those who have performed numerous tasks in projects around the world (Latest News, The World, Gazeta do Povo, Record, Corriere dello Sport, etc. ). Hernández replaces Pep Sánchez, founder and director of the magazine since its creation in 1997, who joined PRISA in 2011. Sánchez leaves FreeGameTips as the industry's leading portal.
