Rumor: RE3 remake developer M-Two is working on a larger project, new resident evil in 2021? (Update)

After the work on the ‘Resident Evil 3 Remake’ has been completed, developer M-Two should work on a larger remake, again together with Capcom.

M-Two was founded by Platinum Games CEO Tatsuya Minami and then taken over by Capcom. What they will work on next, however, is unclear, since Capcom could consider several brands that could be reissued.

In addition to Tatsuya Minami, game director Kiyohiko Sakata and designer Tsutomu Teranish are said to have been commissioned with the new project. Both were also active at Platinum Games. Here time will show what is hidden behind it.

New Resident Evil in 2021

Meanwhile, rumors are opening up about another Resident Evil project that is slated to appear as a cross-gen title in 2021. This is said to be the biggest departure from the franchise so far, as a well-known insider believes to know, who also expects that many fans will feel offended by it. However, these should also be open to new things. The insider himself is quite enthusiastic about the internal tests. The development of the game is said to have started in 2016, so parallel to Resident Evil 7. An announcement should also take place soon. It is currently not possible to confirm whether this is actually so.

Update: The insider goes back to rumors and is now writing that next year the game will be Resident Evil 8, which will be released as a cross-gen title. Originally, the title was supposedly developed as ‘Revelations 3’ and then RE8 was converted. This should also explain why Capcom is once again making a major departure from what was presented in Resident Evil 7.
