Spire Motorsports will field Kiwi contender Shane van Gisbergen in the No. 7 Chevrolet at Richmond Raceway on Friday night.
Van Gisbergen’s Return to the Truck Series
The driver has made his fifth appearance in the Craftsman Truck Series, capturing a career‑best third place on an oval in his most recent Sands at North Wilkesboro. That jacked him to 49 laps led in the Cup event that followed, finishing fifth overall.
Richmond is familiar territory for van Gisbergen, who ran a 14th‑place point finish in the Cup race last summer and a 15th in the 2024 O’Reilly event.
History Behind the No. 7 Truck
Throughout the 2026 season drivers such as Kyle Busch (who secured his final victories before his tragic passing), Connor Mosack, Sammy Smith, Corey Day, Rajah Caruth, and Chase Elliot have taken the wheel of the No. 7 entry.
The truck now carries the HendrickCars.com sponsor for the Richmond race, adding another layer of prestige to Spire’s roster.
