Shin Megami Tensei V goes ahead and reappears for Christmas

The Nintendo Switch game, which was announced by Atlus in 2017, had been showing no signs of life for two years, but its development is still underway.

It seems like yesterday when Nintendo Switch was introduced and Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei V for the platform, right? Well no, it wasn't yesterday. It was in January 2017, practically three years ago. A period of time in which a trailer and three images of the game have hardly been shown. But as the song "come home for Christmas" says, the title came to desserts last Christmas Eve, when its developer decided to congratulate the parties to their fans and clear all the rumors about its possible cancellation. Thus, in a brief press release, Atlus has clarified that Shin Megami Tensei V is still running and has explained why it is taking so long.

Confirmed for Europe

The company says that when it was announced, the game was in a conceptual phase of its creation. Until February 2019 they did not start working fully on it and since then, according to its producer, Kazuyuki Yamai, they have progressed little by little, trying to take advantage of all the features of Nintendo Switch, a platform from which it will be exclusive. Little else is known about the project, which will use the Unreal Engine 4, will maintain the usual dark tone of the series and whose argument will go once again about demons that invade the world, and in this case the city of Tokyo. A plot that will be used as an excuse to examine the conscience of society and reflect on the internal frustration of people, whether they come for work, social or military reasons. And most importantly, Shin Megami Tensei V is confirmed for Europe.

Atlus's attention has focused in recent years especially on Persona 5, his right eye, which received a 10 out of 10 on FreeGameTips and was so successful that next March 31, 2020 will be a new edition of it, Persona 5: Royal Far from living on income, this version will have 30% more content than the original, and will include new members and confidants for the Phantom Thieves, unpublished areas of Tokyo to explore and changes in the dungeons, enemies and treasures. Not to mention the new opening, ending and main theme of the game or that for the first time in the history of the saga the title will arrive in Spanish, German, French and Italian. To see the glass half full, remember that the saga Persona is still part of Shin Megami Tensei. It's something.
