Last Tuesday, Paramount unveiled the new design from Sonic in the upcoming feature film after the first attempt to do so had caused quite a shitstorm.

So as not to fall back into the Hedgehog for the second try, Paramount put the experts on board to make Sonic look as authentic as possible in the movie, including Sonic Mania Director Tyson Hesse, as he confirms on Twitter. There, Hesse writes today that it was an honor for him to be responsible for the design of the new film Sonic. The collaboration with the artists and animators was a real thrill for him, which he will never forget.

The script for the fast-paced and cool action-fun was written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The film is directed by Oscar-nominated Jeff Fowler ("Gopher Broke", "Where the Wild Things Are"), who has already gained his first experience working with animated characters and is now making his feature film debut with Sonic The Hedgehog.

As the German dubbing voice for the title character, one of the most famous German influencers – Julien Bam (over 5 million Youtube subscribers) – could be won. On Sonic's page, "Westworld" actor James Marsden is seen as a cop Tom. The role of Sonic's crazy archenemy Dr. Robotnik has taken on comedy-sized Jim Carrey ("Bruce Almighty", "Stupid and Dumber").

Sonic The Hedgehog starts on February 20, 2020 in German cinemas.
