The feature film starring the SEGA hedgehog brings forward its release date due to the impact of the coronavirus, although it will arrive sooner in digital version.
SEGA's mascot runs at full speed to arrive on time for its domestic release. After Sonic's departure from The Movie Premature Movie, the production company Paramount has decided to bring up the release date of the film. To open its mouth, the company has begun to broadcast some scenes that did not reach the final cut. One of these deleted sequences shows how Baby Sonic looked before the redesign occurred. Although the effects of the scene are not finalized, its appearance is glimpsed quite clearly. You can see the video above these lines.
Following the success of Baby Yoda, one of the characters in The Mandalorian, the first Star Wars series, the baby version of Sonic was destined to sell many stuffed animals. Perhaps he has not triumphed as much as the curious companion of the Mandalorian, but that has not prevented Sonic The Movie from working very well at the box office. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation has partially halted its progression, as movie theaters have closed in many countries. That has motivated to advance the premiere in digital format to March 31. The Blu-Ray and DVD edition will come later, specifically in the month of May, although in Spain the date of June 19 still appears.
A new look for Sonic
Sonic The Movie had a difficult start, as Paramount was forced to delay the film after releasing the first trailer. The main problem was the design of the hedgehog, which the fans did not like at all. In order to redefine the project and not erode their art department, they moved the release date from November to February.
Meanwhile, SEGA is in full celebration as it turns 60. To this end, the company has opened a new website in which they announce special events, although no further details have yet been given.
