Santa Monica Studios (God of War) has started the next phase of development for their new project, in which one is dedicated to motion capture.
This is confirmed by God of War Narrative Animator, Kim Newman, on Twitter, who writes: “Feels good to be back in the suit. @SonySantaMonica ".

Whether this inevitably indicates that it is a sequel to God of War is currently unclear. There were always indications that you would like to continue the story of the reboot, but you would also like to work on a prequel story. There were also signs that Sony Santa Monica is working on a brand new IP and that God of War is being left behind for now.
It can be assumed that the new game will be released on the PS5 at the earliest, but since you are already in the pre-production phase, it is at least beginning to take shape and should not be too far away.
