The Japanese company wants to encourage players to stay at home, so it will offer free entertainment for PlayStation 4.
Sony has announced that it will give away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey to all PlayStation 4 players (once obtained, you will own them in your library). The move has been taken as part of the Play at Home initiative, as revealed by Jim Ryan, CEO of the company. In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, the Japanese are aware that a large part of citizens and indie studios are confined or subjected to other measures of social distancing.
Play at Home has two components: the first, providing free games to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home; finally, establish a fund to support small independent studios, which may experience financial problems or difficulties to continue creating their great experiences for the players, "argues the executive.
From April 15 to May 5, users from all over the world will be able to get hold of these games. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection includes the original remastered trilogy from the Naughty Dog saga, i.e. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Betrayal. Journey, on the other hand, is an independent title developed by Thatgamecompany, which stands out for the beauty of its graphic section and for offering a different experience.

Knack 2 in Germany and China
Notably, users in China and Germany will not enjoy the Nathan Drake story. Sony has confirmed that in these countries it will be replaced by Knack 2, another of the company's first-party video games. "We can't imagine a better time for Nathan Drake's globetrotting adventures, an iconic character cast, gripping treasure hunters, and action-packed gameplay," says Ryan. About Journey, he mentions that it is a game that reaffirms the importance of life, "a message that is perhaps more crucial now than ever."
Sony Interactive Entertainement will also donate $ 10 million to a fund reserved for independent studios. “Indie developers are vital, the heart and soul of the player community. We understand the financial difficulties that many small studios face. ”
