New data on the future of the saga emerge, this time, with an adaptation centered on the planet of the Sith that we could already see in Episode IX.
Despite all the controversy generated after the most recent film trilogy, the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the end to the Skywalker saga itself, Disney intends to continue exploring the Star Wars universe with new projects such as the successful The Mandalorian and other Disney + series or future film adaptations, of which new details are already known. So much so, that Disney and Lucasfilm have already launched a new film by JD Dillard as director and Matt Owens (Luke Cage) as a screenwriter, according to Variety.
Atmosphere on the planet Sith Exegol
For the moment little more is known about this new project, although from Deadline it is assured that it will be set on the planet Exegol, home of the Sith and that we could see recently in the Ephesian IX itself. Of course, it is not known the time in which it will be set or if it will be a movie in theaters or an exclusive Disney + production.
Recall that the new trilogy by director Rian Johnson goes ahead and recently announced the participation of Kevin Feige, creative director of Marvel and direct head of UCM, in a Star Wars production.
If we consider that Matt Owens comes from Marvel, it would not be crazy to think that Feige could take part in this new project. On the other hand, screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis (Alita: Angel of Combat, Terminator Genesis) is currently writing the script adapted from the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game.
Do not forget that Disney maintains three key dates marked on the calendar for new Star Wars releases, with the months of December 2022, 2024 and 2026, so we should not take long to know the future of the saga by those responsible .
