The Obi-Wan Kenobi series from Star Wars has been through several setbacks since its official announcement in the summer of last year, when actor Ewan McGregor himself appeared on stage at Disney’s D23 Expo confirming both the adaptation for Disney + and his participation, recovering the role he already played in the second film trilogy of the saga. Now, its director Deborah Chow has confirmed through the ATX Festival that the series is still in development despite the total absence of news or news about it for months.
Script change and script rewrite

Now, series director Deborah Chow reassures fans by ensuring that series production continues, although we will still have to wait for news: “We have a little more to do than that, but we are in development,” says Chow. after a humorous comment from his colleague Taika Waititi in relation to his next Star Wars film and about which he claimed to be “all finished”.
The filming of Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to start in early 2021, delays that had nothing to do with the current global pandemic situation and which has led all current series and movie productions to stop filming. On the other hand, the second season of The Mandalorian is still scheduled for next October, as confirmed by its showrunner, Jon Favreau, at the same ATX Festival.
