What's new at Respawn Entertainment was recently updated for free to add new content.
That Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order marks the beginning of a saga was an open secret, especially when more than 10 million players have already played it. Not only had Kotaku revealed that Respawn Entertainment was working on a second part, but the developer herself dropped that her next title would be a Star Wars game in a job offer. Now, Electronic Arts has confirmed that the game starring Cal Kestis will have continuity with new installments.
Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts, has participated in a shareholders' meeting to report on the company's financial results. During his speech, he referred to the recent Respawn video game. Although he has not given specific details about the sequel, he did mention that it is the “first title of a completely new franchise”, which implies, in a slightly surreptitious way, that the adventures of the Jedi (or at least his concept) will continue in some way in the future.
New free update for Star Wars Day
Taking advantage of Star Wars Day, Respawn Entertainment released a free update that adds multiple new features to the game. It has already been said that the developer was not working on new story content, but the long-awaited New Game Plus is incorporated, as well as combat arenas and unpublished cosmetics.
The video game follows the story of Cal Kestis, an ancient Padawan who manages to escape the witch hunt organized by the evil Galactic Empire. Hiding from the emperor's vassals, the young man tries to hide his affinity by force, but he will soon discover that his past haunts him, so he will have to fly the lightsaber again. The objective? Weaken the Imperials, who rule the galaxy with an iron fist.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released last November for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game has also been one of the first titles of the company to return to Steam, since Electronic Arts decided not to launch its products exclusively for its platform, Origin. In this way, many of their games will see the light both in the Valve store and in the Epic Games Store.
