Former Haas Formula 1 team principal Guenther Steiner has ruled out the notion that Christian Horner and Fred Vasseur will work together at Ferrari.
Steiner Declares No Joint Ferrari Move
In a recent episode of The Red Flags Podcast, Steiner stated that Horner “doesn’t want to work for anybody” and presented Ferrari only as a possibility if no ownership role is involved. He added that a “plan A” move for Horner “doesn’t work out” and that fitting into Ferrari would be a “plan B.”
Horner’s Dreams in Maranello
These remarks echo what Horner told The Times, where he described Ferrari as “the dream” and the sole team where he would accept a non‑ownership post at this stage of his career. The former Red Bull chief’s interest in Maranello has sparked speculation within the F1 community.
Why the Pair Won’t Co‑work
Steiner clarified that Fred Vasseur would not be “staying there working for Christian.” He noted that Vasseur has a contract and that “there is not space for the two of them” within the Ferrari hierarchy. Steiner further suggested that Vasseur might not feel the need to move, thereby limiting any pairing with Horner.
Steiner continued by mentioning the potential publicity surrounding Horner’s new book, suggesting that the release could boost book sales, though he admitted uncertainty about its impact.
