The Cybernetic Walrus play will feature a demo and give players the chance to try it out for a week.
Steam Game Festival (June 9-14) is one of the events that were born in response to the cancellation of E3 2020 by the coronavirus. On this digital stage, the new Cybernetic Walrus, the strategy and card game Rise of Humanity, will be presented. During these days, players will have the opportunity to access a free demo, which will be available for a full week. This has been confirmed by the study in a press release, where they have assured that they intend to listen to the opinions of the players.
“Our participation in the next Steam Game Festival represents the first opportunity for everyone to play the game. We look forward to hearing from player experiences and what they expect from Rise of Humanity, ”said Mike Coeck, CEO of Cybernetic Walrus. The title mixes the tactical strategy of games like XCOM with Slay the Spire-style card mechanics, a very successful independent game.
No Exploding Bunny card in your deck to deal with those robots? A good wallop with an Ice Pick will do the trick as well!

An AI rules the Earth
In Rise of Humanity, card strategy is one of the main features of the video game. Each of the characters has a unique deck, which adapts their skills during the game. As reported in the press release, the game is developed through grids that are generated in a random and procedural way. The objective? Save the world from evil artificial intelligence.
History invites us to control a group of heroes who have survived the tyrannical actions of AI. However, this robotic force is weakening, so they make the decision to step forward with the goal of ending it and reclaiming Earth once and for all. Players must collect cards and battle enemies in hexagonal settings, all while building their own decks and receiving in-game rewards.
