This thematic space, initially planned for its opening in 2023, needs much more time to prepare and set up, according to information from the Orlando Sentinel (via Polygon), which was completely paralyzed in July 2020 due to the gravity it was reaching. the coronavirus pandemic in the United States last summer.

After the repercussion of the Orlando Sentinel report, Universal itself has published an official statement making it clear that construction has resumed “immediately, but it is expected to take a few months before it reaches your maximum speed” of construction, given that employees have to go back to their jobs little by little and bring together both the supplier teams and the contractors.

Universal Orlando: what it is and how many themed spaces does it have

It should be noted that the delay of Universal’s Epic Universe in Orlando does not affect only the Super Nintendo World themed area, but in general the entire park, located a few miles from the existing resort, and which will have an area of ​​300 hectares in the south of Sand Lake Road. In total, the Universal Orlando complex has three theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe; the latter the one that runs until 2025 and that inevitably affects the opening of the space dedicated to Super Nintendo World.
