Undercoders is back with a metroidvania title that deals with issues that directly affect the reality of the environment that unites us.

SuperEpic: The Entertainment War is the new bet of the Catalan studio Undercoders with Numskull Games. At a time when the current generation of consoles is packing, the emerging business models settle to ratify a new way of monetizing the environment; and it is that, the presence of micropayments, loot boxes and other practices that tries to tell us this title.

Satire, irreverence and extravagant situations are some of the letters of presentation of this metroidvania, on sale this December 12 for all platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. An adventure with touches of platform, action and elements typical of the classics of the genre in the era of 16-bits condense into a fresh, lively and somewhat crazy title that essentially hides a lot of reality.

That clash of realities, where we control a masked raccoon raised in a flame, show that the tyranny that tries to impose the Regnantcop organization to control society through free, addictive video games and with integrated purchases, is not so far from what we think The game is not about demonizing the current state of the medium, but exaggerating a situation that has reached excessive limits in that world, those that allow you to experience the videogame sector.

According to the study, SuperEpic: The Entertainment War lasts approximately eight hours and has QR codes inside to solve some puzzles. These codes must be scanned with a mobile device and include mini-games that, when completed, will give us the solution to that puzzle.

Beyond the mentioned campaign mode, the title also has a roguelike mode for dungeon lovers; a conglomerate of randomly generated missions. In both cases there is a common denominator: parody those inclinations that accompany the electronic leisure sector more and more fervently and consciously.

On an aesthetic level, SuperEpic: The Entertainment War has opted for the pixer alt to emulate the classic arcade machines of decades ago; all seasoned with a soundtrack composed by Damián Sánchez. In the strictly playable, as far as we have been able to prove, we have fast mechanics, very direct and well-calibrated animations in the space-time scheme and three attack options (with combos): horizontal, vertical up and vertical down, each with brooms, road signs and other unpredictable situations.
